Blog #2 - Genre Background
The genre of my film would be categorized as a Thriller and Drama. It falls under these categories as it has a scary start but it doesn't occur in the whole movie. It is going to be the opening scene as I am going to have people trying to break into a home with a girl that is home alone. The point is that Colia already has anxiety, death anxiety specifically, and is scared easily. So, going through something like this sends her to a spiral where she looses hope. Causing her to not appreciate the moment she's in as she's constantly worrying about the future. This where drama comes in as Colia is trying to control her anxiety. The drama is noticeable as Colia is going through many emotions, conflicts, and experiences.
My movie intro could also be seen as a coming of age. Coming of age movies consist of characters typically 16-21. Age sixteen opens a child up to a lot of opportunities -such as driving- and unsupervised experiences, age Eighteen is when a child becomes labeled as an adult, and then Twenty-One is legal age for drinking. These ages are the main milestones that people look forward to. This being the ages of becoming an adult. During these years is when people tend to start realizing their responsibilities and begin maturing. This relates to my movie in the sense that Colia is experiencing anxiety and a sense of ptsd during her adolescence and maturing age. Colia is taking the age of 16, almost 17. Anxiety is in many forms and very relatable to teens and forming adults. Anxiety is common through all ages, however its main start is around age 18. For Colia's case she has had it for as long as she can remember but this scary event changes Colia. In a way to where she's always fearful and worrying about things out of her control.
Name- "Breathe, Feel, Touch"
My movie is going to show Colia's traumatic event. This followed by Colia not knowing what's happening to her. She will try to figure it out alone. However, she can't sleep and its overtaking her mind. Colia will then reach out for help. Then the solutions are thrown at her. It is going to end with a freeing song that gives the audience a wonder of "What will Colia do?" but also a suspicion that it worked out because of the song i will insert at the end. This showing that there is more to the movie.
