Blog #6 - Tv show inspiration part 2
Along with the "Teen wolf" show there is another show that fits into my project. This show is the "Peaky Blinders". Now, it is unexpected, however, it does inspire me in a sense of emotion. The Peaky Blinders show is a drama like Teen Wolf. They share a genre and the aspect of romance and relationships. Although, they are very different. This show is about a Gypsy family in Birmingham, England in 1919. This family is considered a street gang as they run their business off of illegal bets and things in that sort. The family is lead by their crime boss, Thomas Shelby. Thomas is who I am focusing on for this blog.
Thomas Shelby is very smart and resourceful, however, I am using him as an example for Colia because of his emotions. What I mean by this is that when Thomas gets mad, upset, irritated, or any emotion in that area, his face becomes emotionless, he will say very little words, and most of all he won't look at who has wronged him. For an example of what I mean is season 4 episode 6. In this Michael Gray, son of Polly Gray, betrays Thomas during an act of business. Something that Thomas doesn't take lightly. During the whole clip I am going to show, is Thomas blank staring while Michael stands behind him. Thomas does this a lot as he feels it is better to make no eye contact, and say very little words, then speak through his emotions as he might say or do something that he might regret.
Season 4, Episode 6 : "The Company". START- 1:48 , END- 3:40

This influences my movie as I will have Colia appear emotionless in a scene of therapy. The point is that she is zoning out for a few scenes as she won't want to talk about anything. It will show that Colia is not staring at the person talking. This will match with a few short dialogue coming from Colia. She will respond with short responses. Showing her lack of interest and state of emotionless. Colia will show that she doesn't feel that she belongs there. She finds it pointless and is irritated at the fact that she was dragged to therapy. Representing by the kind of expression that Thomas Shelby wears in this scene.
