Blog #37 - Imovie Transitions
When editing through iMovie, they have multiple options to how someone can smooth their clips together. The options shown are "None" , "Theme" , "Dissolve" , "Slide" , "Wipe" , and "Fade" . Each of these options will appear when you click inbetween each clip. For my clips I mostly have "Dissolve". This allows for the scene before to fade into the next. Which would think to be "Fade" but its not. "Fade" goes into a black screen and then shows the next scene. The "Dissolve" option is a basic go to , yet it is what I used for my previous videos and movie clips in the past. So I know it looks good.
The option for "None" is to straight foward for my scenes. It just goes straight to the next clip. This doesn't work for my project when it comes to fading the scenes together. Although, I will use it for different clips in a scene. This will also allow for the fast pacing because it will just go from scene to scene to scene. Allowing for no inbetween action. This "None" transition for example, will be used in the bathroom scene. For editing I will use "Dissolve" , "None", and after messing with the options I might consider "Fade".
