Blog #26 - Week 1 Filming Edited (Sound)

Sounds overlayed on IMovie:

  First week of editing is done. I added Olivia Rodrigo's "bad idea right?" song into the clips right when she takes her airpod out. Colia takes her airpod out because she hears a noise coming from her outside door. To represent the noise she hears I put on overlay sound of someone knocking. For this, I recorded a sperate video of Briana knocking on my bedroom door in a distance. I layed on my bed and recorded the wall. I removed the visual video from it and kept the sound. This allowed for me to put that audio over a scene in my film to make it as if Colia heard a distant knocking.

For when Colia is listening music and doing homework I wanted the film to hear Colias music but also once she pulled the airpod out the music was there. Then, once she stopped listening to music the audio was still playing for the viewers to hear. The sound starts at Colias action of her taking the airpod out and then stops once the event is over. There is also a fade to the sound that I added in there. This allows for a more pleasant sound rather than just very abrupt and loud, it eases into the scene.

One more sound added into their was dialouge from Ethan and Noah. Originally, they had no dialouge but the actors improvised to make the scene more realistic. There is the first scene where Ethan and Noah are walking up to the door and when Noah alerts Ethan about the camera. Ethan says "no ones home" and noah laughs. Then for the camera Noah says "yo, bro".
