Blog #3 - Movie inspirations

A couple movies gave me this inspiration. These being the "Corpse Bride" movie and "The Hunger Games" sequel. These inspired me for the movie as they both have strong female roles. During those strong female roles the women experience trauma and stress before they become happy and content.

For the movie "Corpse Bride" it is the female role of Emily. Emily was murdered when trying to get married. All she wanted was love and when victor found her by accident she wanted to be happy with him. However, Victor was alive and Emily was not. She would have to sacrifice Victor to marry him. She declined. She wanted Victor to live a good married life, and that life was not with her. So she watched victor get married to another women, a living woman named Victoria. She was happy that Victor was happy. She was then set free. Emily went through so much, but she overcame it. She ended her journey with a happy heart.

For The Hunger Games, it is Katniss. Katniss had to go through the hunger games where she is placed into an arena and forced to kill to survive. She had to be the last standing. Katniss and Peeta live as they play the capital with their "Love". Katniss and Peeta came together from district 12 and left together. That description is for the first "The Hunger Games" movie. President Snow has a deep hatred for Katniss. In the second movie of this sequel, President Snow sends Katniss and the rest of the winner tributes from the previous games, back into the arena. When Katniss hears this she storms out of her house and has an anxiety attack. She deals with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) thinking about her first hunger games and the fact that she has to go back. That she has to relive her most scary memory. After all of the movies, the last movie ends with Katniss living happily with Peeta and they start a family.

This again showing that no matter what someone is going through, there is hope. It is very hard to overcome trauma and it will always be apart of someone, however, it can be lived with. These things require patience and help. Happy endings are possible with motivation and encouragement. Not only from others but within oneself. People with anxiety need to be patient with themselves and keep that hope going. These two movies represent hope and that mindset of allowing themselves to accept their situations and allowing themselves to be happy. Being happy for their partners, friends, family, and for themselves. Katniss and Emily are both very relatable and strong. They are perfect examples for my movie and what i want to represent. The happing ending is the goal I hope for my audience to imagine for once my movie intro ends. I hope for them to see a positive path for Colia, along with imagining that she got her happy ending.
