Blog #19 - Director Inspiration

As I have stated before, I am a drama lover. When films involve drama it really enlightens the plot. It adds tension to scenes and keeps the audience on their toes. I researched a ton of movies and directors. I came across Martin Scorsese. Martin has won alot of awards like emmys and grammys, however, he has a temper. He also isn't known to be the nicest to his actors and fans. I didn't want to use him as an example. Instead, I kept looking and found Christopher Nolan. Christopher is very nice and an absolute gentleman. He is always there for his actors and is known for his encouragemnet. He also directored amazing thriller/drama movies such as "Dunkirk", "Oppenheimer", and "The Dark Knight". He has many films that are huge hits.

Chirtopher Nolan overall is reviewed really good. Those who work with him and meet him say hes a verygood guy. This is how i believe  good director should be. Now, getting frustrated on set is understandable however, Martin Scorsese have a very short temper and would often irritate his actors. He even talked about the fact that he knew how he treated people was wrong but he did it anyway. He directored very good movies but the attitude is supposed to be positive on set. For a successful movie, actors and other workers on set need acknowledgemnet, encouragement, trust, and a happy work environment. Christopher displays these qualities.

This is very beneficial to me and my film. This as I want to create a upliftting environmnt while filming, not a hostile one. Everyone will be willing to work with me as they have before and they know it was fine. We had fun and laughed and I never got mad for having to retake scenes. I was very understanding and just wanted to be fun with it. I will continue this behavior like Chistopher shows. He is a great example for how a director should act and be toward his actors and crew.
