Blog #9 - Sound Research
To set the scene of my film I will add in a few different sounds to increase the quality. The sounds being music, dialogue, diegetic sound, non diegetic sound, synchronous sounds, and lastly asynchronous. There are many different sounds in the film media but, I think these sounds will match the best with my movie. For the music aspect, I have three songs in mind to use throught my film. They will be short, one will be right in the beginning, one in the middle when there is little dialogue, and then finally one at the end. For dialouge, I still need to do a little more research on what the dialogue will be throughout the whole 2 minutes. And the diegetic/ non- diegetic sounds along with synchronous/ asynchronous sounds, I will get to in a few paragraphs.
To start with music, the three songs I will use are going to be "bad idea right?" by Olivia Rodrigo, "Cant Catch Me Now" also by Olivia Rodrigo, and then "Sand In My Boots" by Morgan Wallen. The Morgan Wallen song is going to be the Instrumental verison. For the first scene in my movie before Colia hears any noises, she will be listening to "bad idea right?" for maybe a few seconds. It wont be long it will just be her listening to music in her room. Then, when she thinks she hears something she will take out her headphones. In the middle of the film there will be little dialouge, but to avoid silence thats when I will add in Morgan Wallens Instrument song to show the more sad/drama mood of Colias situation. At the exact end of my movie I am going to have the black screen to say "One Year Later" to show there is more to my film. Over that black screen is going to play Olivias other song "Cant Catch Me Now". I mentioned this song and its importance in a few of my blogs, along with a link a photo of the song. Stating that the song over it is going to stick in the audiences mind so they have a feeling that things are looking up for Colia.

My movie wont have alot of dialogue, it will have a fair amount. It will have the tramatic scene and the dialogue of the robbers. There will be Colias anxiety attack scene. Along with Colias therapist scene, involving the therapist talking, and Colias short responses. Then, Colia turning to a friend with comfort, which will involve crying and the friend telling her she will be okay.
Diegetic and non diegetic sounds are a main source of sounds in the film world. Diegetic being a sound that both the audience and charcters within the film can hear. Unlike non-diegetic when its strictly a noise that only the audience can hear. My film will include both of these. Diegetic will be used with dialogue and the opening scene of Colia listening to "bad idea right?". Non-diegetic will be used in the remaining parts of the film. Synchrnous sound is a common thing for filming as well, which will be used majority of my movie as most of my scenes will line up with whats happening on screen. However, I will include asynchronous sound with the scene of Colia hearing the men outside her door as she will hear them banging and laughing but they wont be on screen.
